bio
I was born in Peoria, Illinois in the seventies. I spent my childhood growing up in Ogden, Utah where I earned an associate's degree at Weber State University. In 1997 I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and moved to New York City where I worked at Karen McCready Fine Art. I also worked temporarily for video artist Matthew Barney, creating sets and sculptures for Barney's Cremaster 2. I relocated to Seattle, Washington in 1999 and began working for glass artist Dale Chihuly while earning my master's degree in teaching from Western Washington University. I coordinated large-scale art installations and gallery exhibitions for Chihuly for five years. I currently teach art in the Northshore School District. I have shown my work at Kittredge Gallery and the Center on Contemporary Art.

At Inglemoor High School I teach stained glass and advanced art classes, and I advise yearbook. I love teaching art, but more than that I love MAKING any kind of art. I work most often with encaustic and oil pastel. A goal of my work is to explore layers of color and balance with representational images.
